On 25-29 September 2023 George Paresishvili, the CEO of the Republican Stock Exchange Toshkent (the RSE) participated in the “Treasury Risk Management and Capital Markets Seminar” organized by EBRD in London for the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, Uzbek commercial banks and the RSE. Participants met with representatives of EBRD Treasury and Capital and Financial Markets Development team, as well as with International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) and Bloomberg.

 George Paresishvili and representatives of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan also met with leading international banks and global custodians J.P. Morgan, Citi, ICBS Standard Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs. Issues related to the development of local capital market were discussed, from trading Uzbek Sum on offshore and onshore forex markets to purchasing and holding Uzbek Sum denominated local government bonds, corporate bonds and equities by foreign investors.

 George Paresishvili also met with representatives of Clearstream to discuss setting up a link with Uzbekistan to enable access of international investors to local securities market.
